Presentation of the grids

The meeting?s flagship event welcomes touring cars and GT cars from before 1965. For half a lap, 2 or 3 drivers take turns behind the wheel of cars that have often written the most beautiful pages of motorsport history, such as the Ford GT40, Porsche 911, AC Cobra, Aston Martin DB4 GT, Jaguar Type-E... without forgetting the touring cars such as the Alfa Romeo Guilia, Ford Mustang, or Mini
The magic of this event lies both in its duration and in its night-time part. The ballet of the headlights in the Raidillon, the refuelling and the race strategies will make you relive the magic of the endurance races of yesteryear!

These prototypes have written the history of endurance racing, whether at the 24 Hours of Le Mans or in the World Endurance Championship, which was then as famous - if not more so - than Formula 1. Built by factories (Porsche, Alfa-Romeo, Ferrari...) or by craftsmen (Chevron, Lola...), these cars are real collector's items!

The Historic Grand Prix Cars Association takes its name from meetings organised before the 1950s for the first purpose-built cars, which were called 'Grand Prix'. This term became widely used to designate all such competitions throughout Europe (British Grand Prix, Italian Grand Prix etc.). It was not until 1950 that the Grand Prix gave way to the Formula One World Championship for single-seaters, as we still know it today.

Throughout history, the Fédération Internationale de l'Automobile has often sought to create low-cost categories, in particular to allow young drivers with little money to make their mark. In this case, the principle is often the same: to use as many elements as possible from production cars. Formula Junior appeared in October 1958 and included single-seaters with 1000cc engines (for cars weighing less than 360 kg) or 1100cc engines (over 400 kg). At international level, it disappeared at the end of the 1963 season - following the switch from F1 to 1500cc in 1961, which transformed Formula Junior into an antechamber to F1 rather than an entry-level formula - to make way for Formula 2 and Formula 3.
