puissantes de l\u2019\u00e9preuve phare des Spa Six Hours Endurance, mais dont le pedigree est plus qu\u2019int\u00e9ressant. Le samedi 1er octore, entre 15h55 et 21h55, le public pourra en effet appr\u00e9cier la TVR Grantura MKIII Sebring que se partageront Luc De Cock, Jos Wymeersch et le Britannique Oliver Reuben. Sebring ? Vous avez dit Sebring ?<\/p><p>\u00ab\u00a0Nous allons en effet rouler au sein de la formation TVR Wijmeersch avec une TVR Grantura MKIII Sebring, explique Luc De Cock. Une voiture qui avait \u00e9t\u00e9 sp\u00e9cialement cr\u00e9\u00e9e pour la c\u00e9l\u00e8bre course disput\u00e9e en Floride. En fait, cette auto n\u2019a gu\u00e8re connu le succ\u00e8s, puisque les deux voitures align\u00e9es en 1963 n\u2019ont effectu\u00e9 que quelques tours, tandis que la voiture de r\u00e9serve n\u2019a jamais pris la piste. Notre voiture actuelle est la #51 align\u00e9e lors de cette \u00e9dition 1963 des 12 Heures de Sebring, soit une voiture d\u2019usine qui, comme les deux autres bolides de l\u2019\u00e9quipe \u00e0 l\u2019\u00e9poque, \u00e9tait pourvue d\u2019une carrosserie plus l\u00e9g\u00e8re et d\u2019un moteur de 1622cc d\u2019origine MG. Mark Donohue, notamment, a pilot\u00e9 cette voiture.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>Ancien pilote am\u00e9ricain de F1, qui a notamment d\u00e9croch\u00e9 un podium pour Penske McLaren au Canada, Mark Donohue a remport\u00e9 les 500 Miles d\u2019indianapolis en 1972. Il est d\u00e9c\u00e9d\u00e9 dans des conditions dramatiques lors des qualifications du Grand Prix d\u2019Autriche en 1975.<\/p><p>La voiture avec laquelle Donohue a roul\u00e9 \u00e0 Sebring a \u00e9t\u00e9 vendue \u00e0 un ami du pilote en 1967, et elle a \u00e9t\u00e9 retrouv\u00e9e quelques ann\u00e9es plus tard. L\u2019auto est ensuite arriv\u00e9e entre des mains belges. En 2017, on l\u2019a revue en piste dans le cadre de Spa Six Hours, au terme d\u2019une restauration en profondeur.<\/p><p>\u201cJ\u2019ai achet\u00e9 la Grantura dans un \u00e9tat original, mais catastrophique, explique Jos Wymeersch. Nigel Reuben Racing nous a aid\u00e9s \u00e0 restaurer la voiture aux normes de l\u2019Annexe K de la FIA, ce qui signifie que le ch\u00e2ssis et la carrosserie n\u2019ont pas \u00e9t\u00e9 modifi\u00e9s. Sous le capot, on trouve d\u00e9sormais un bloc MG de 1800cc, avec une bo\u00eete synchro \u00e0 trois rapports.\u00a0\u00bb<\/p><p>\u201cL\u2019avantage de cette petite voiture de sport britannique dans le cadre de Spa Six Hours, c\u2019est qu\u2019elle est en mesure de disputer toute la course avec un seul plein de carburant, reprend Luc De Cock. Avec ses 170 chevaux, c\u2019est sans doute l\u2019une des voitures les moins puissantes du plateau, mais comme sa consommation est moindre et qu\u2019on peut aussi disputer l\u2019\u00e9preuve avec un seul set de pneus, nous sommes en mesure de rapidement progresser dans le classement.
